Create a listing

A listing is one specification: a make and model, described once, so every asset placed from it inherits the same data.

  • Details — name, description, manufacturer, model number, reference.
  • Data profile — the published profile version this listing is typed against. The catalogue’s profile target supplies it; if the catalogue has none yet, this form offers Choose data profile to bind one on the spot.
  • Classification — where the item sits in your taxonomy.
  • Standards — which standard editions it complies with.
  • Listing fields — the typed fields the data profile declares, each with the requiredness and control the profile configured.
  • Default image — stored once by content hash, shown wherever the listing appears.
  • Default shape — how assets from this listing draw on floor plans.

Save requires the data profile. If you see This catalogue has no data profile yet, press Choose data profile, pick a profile workspace and a published version, and the Listing Fields card fills in.

When you edit an existing listing and pick a newer profile version, a notice explains that saving will create a profile-migration receipt and carry your reviewed field values into the selected version. Nothing moves until you save.

For what a profile is and how to author one, see Data Profiles.
