Product exceptions

Sometimes the catalogue’s approved item can’t be used — it’s discontinued, it doesn’t fit, the replacement differs. A product exception puts that situation on the record: what was specified, what’s proposed instead, and who approved the change.

  • Raise an exception — describe the situation in plain fields; it’s created as a typed request.
  • Review an exception — approve or reject a pending request, with the decision recorded against it.

Exceptions exist so substitutions are decisions, not surprises — the audit trail shows every departure from the approved specification and who signed it off.
